This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This projected inside garden will benefit the students in many ways. In the past, the 3rd grades have loved and taken pride in creating, cultivating, and learning so much from having an outside garden. They often used their garden as a place for their SEL needs as well.

With this inside garden, students will be able to keep their garden inside of the classroom and there will not be a need to go outside in the hot blazing Arizona sun and high temperatures.

The students will be able to observe and take pride of their garden in a safer environment. Students will be able to experience a hands on experience on how different plants grow by using hydroponics . They would be able to harvest different plants throughout the year.

Hopefully, with these inside garden experience they can recreate growing hydroponic plants at their homes as they do with the outside gardens we,’ve had in the past. Unfortunately, during summer break our outside gardens are not tended to and dry out. This garden would thrive on its own all year long.
