My Students

My students are full of excitement about third grade and being in school! They are sweet and ready to learn new things every day. Our school is fairly new. It opened seven years ago and is lacking many instructional materials and flexible seating options for students to help them integrate movement and learning together.

Our school has a moderate poverty level; about 40% of our students receive a free or reduced lunch.

My goal is to fill our classroom with as many technology opportunities and flexible seating options as possible to help our young students meet the goals of becoming 21st century learners and global competitors.

My Project

The Osmo gaming system offers different games that challenge students to think creatively and critically. The games that are included in the system are Numbers, Words, and Tanagrams.

The Numbers game allows students to use manipulatives to solve addition, subtraction, and multiplication problems.

Students will interact directly with the iPads that we currently have to solve math. The Words game allows students to build and change words within the game. The Tangrams game really challenges the spatial reasoning of students with giving them access to shapes and the ability to form their own creations. With the requested Osmo kits we would use all three of these games daily across our curriculum.
