My Students

I am a New York City public school educator. I am a part of a district which is a cohort of many schools across our city and has the highest amount of special needs students. Our district is specifically designed to educate students with disabilities. My students have Autism and multiple disabilities. They are also economically disadvantaged. Our district works a 12-month program, so it is essential to have appropriate educational materials and curriculum to support them and meet their individualized learning needs.

I teach students with disabilities and 100% of my students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch.

Students often come to us with many struggles from home. I want their education to be fun and exciting. In my classroom we use technology to learn and grow! My students are just starting to get exposed to coding and STEAM and I want to ensure we can dig into it deeper using Osmo!

My students are some of the most disadvantaged students in New York. I want to ensure that we can meet their needs and help them learn. Building their skills can lead to better academic success and continuing educational outcomes.

My Project

Educational technology is essential in my program but it is so hard to obtain due to cost. Content will go from just being in their imaginations and brought in the palms of their hands which will encourage more thought and the development of other skills. An Osmo kit will help my students enhance their learning in the digital age. Osmo Coding with Awbie will help them learn some basic coding skills. Osmo Words will help them learn their science content vocabulary. Numbers helps them learn all about mathematics in a fun and engaging way.

I firmly believe that it all learning STEAM needs to begin in elementary to support students future vocational needs.

Students need the freedom to use technology and adaptables to learn and explore, program and test their ideas in order to learn problem solving skills. My students need your help! I want my class excited to learn STEAM. The best way to learn is hands-on with manipulative that students can have fun learning while working in their centers. My students will become successful with your help and OSMO to the rescue!
