Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Welcome to the first grade with Ms. Cotto. My classroom consist of a world of technology. Our biggest challenge is coming up with different ways of learning. The students in my room need so much more hands on activities to support their learning styles. With your support we can empower our future.

My school is a Title One school in which all students are eligible for free breakfast and lunch.

There is a large population of ENL population. Students here struggle with having the proper materials needed to support their learning. Our students love to explore and manipulate in a hands-on approach. They love to be engaged and are motivated to learn.

My Project

Students will use the Osmo and iPad to manipulate objects in Mathematics, letters and words in ELA, as well as be stimulated to participate in lesson appropriate for them. They will learn new ways to promote spelling, writing, and reading. My students will be able to reach their goals and meet their expectations using the Common Core Learning Standards. The iPad will also be used in learning centers with small group and individual activities.

Through this donation to my classroom, students will be motivated to learn with technology and a hands-on approach.

Students will become aware of how letters, sounds, and words can be manipulated learning in ELA with fun and engaging activities. Change will occur with positive reinforcement and the use of technology.
