My Students

I have 19 inquisitive 2nd grade students who love to learn. Some of our students come to school without the skill set needed to be successful learners. Children learn best when they can have hands on experience and can actually experience. Unfortunately, not every student has the ability to do this.

Our school works hard to meet the individual needs of each and every student.

While this can be a challenge, it is very rewarding when I see the "light bulb"go off over the students' heads!

My Project

Using colors in a classroom to help students organize themselves and their work have been used for years, but it's so effective. We have colored folders for each subject and use color copy paper to develop scales used to facilitate learning during our lessons.

You're donations will help streamline transitions during our day as well as increase our learning!

Every time we switch subjects, they only have to look for a certain colored folder in their desk. Pencils and file folders will be used to facilitate students led portfolio conferences. And in order to keep our thoughts flowing, the pencil sharpener will help, too!

I try to use a "hand's on" approach to learning with the modeling clay. Just ask my students about the layers of the earth we study in science.
