Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom of 21 students, about half of whom receive special education services. Our students are eager to learn and need the resources to be successful in their studies!

Our students come from various economic backgrounds, with most of our students receiving free lunch.

My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them for the rest of the day!

Having an organized communal learning space with the right organizational tools goes a long way. A U-shaped table allows students to participate and engage with each other in the learning. It also allows teachers like me to work closely with my students, especially with those who benefit from that extra support. The shelves and drawers allow students to retrieve materials independently that are needed for learning.

Whether it's a communal learning space or a personal learning space, learning spaces are organized, promote learning, and foster students' independence!

Students like to be self-sufficient in getting their own materials from an organized center without their teachers' permission or help.

No matter if it's to the benefit of the entire class or a specific student, these organizational tools will help keep students organized and ready for learning while fostering independence.
