Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom of 23 students, about half of whom receive special education services. Our students are eager to learn and need the resources to be successful in their studies!

Our students come from various economic backgrounds, with most of our students receiving free lunch.

My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them for the rest of the day!

My Project

In an organized communal learning space, organizational tools can keep libraries organized for students with varying interests in genres and topics. Wall files allow students to retrieve materials independently from different learning centers that are needed for learning. An item like heavy-duty baggies allows students to transport borrowed books to and from school in a safe and organized way in a personal learning space.

Whether it's a communal learning space or a personal learning space, learning spaces are organized, promote learning, and foster students' independence!

Students are more likely to pick books from a classroom library where the bins are uniform and clearly labeled. Students like to be self-sufficient in getting their own materials from wall files or an organized center without their teachers' permission or help.

No matter if it's to the benefit of the entire class or a specific student, these organizational tools will help keep students organized and ready for learning while fostering independence.
