My Students

My students have all been identified as highly gifted. These children have special needs and require a differentiated instructional program to provide them with a challenging and rigorous academic setting. My students are inquisitive and thoughtful. They love to learn! It is important to bring in as many supplemental materials as possible to stimulate their minds and encourage their exploration of new concepts.

As a teacher, it is my job to meet the unique needs of my students by helping them to build on all aspects of learning including exploring classroom group projects.

Benjamin Franklin said it best, “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I will learn.” My students will have fun working together, using research projects, to better understand concepts. This will enable the children to go beyond the core standards.

My Project

To keep up with the high volume of student output, I am asking for a laminator, folders, and binding combs. Especially at this time of year, getting ready for Open House, our school’s laminator is overused and it is very expensive to go elsewhere to laminate. Your support would allow the students to keep their unfinished work in a folder until they are ready to laminate their projects, which includes their Space magazines that they are currently working on. Then we can bind their magazines with the combs. This would enable them to immediately see their finished product put together. Our students have also started their Science Fair Projects and many of them have me bind their final reports to exhibit in front of their display board. It is important to the students that we are able to put their final products together so they may proudly display them for their parents and others at Open House.

A laminator will give my students the opportunity to look through each other’s magazines without the fear of accidentally bending or ripping a page.

Your donation will help me to provide my students with the tools they need to have them feel comfortable with others looking through and learning from the articles they have written for their magazines. We thank you so much for your support!
