Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Welcome to Class K-2 203! We are a Special education bridge class in a 12:1 setting. The seat sacks will help our students organize their materials and help them learn responsibility as they return their items to/ from the desks and academic centers. The seat sacks will also allow better accessibility for students.

Promote Organization: Seat sacks help students keep their personal and academic materials organized and easily accessible.

This minimizes distractions and helps students stay focused on their tasks.

Encourage Independence: With a seat sack, students can manage their supplies and belongings independently, fostering a sense of responsibility and self-reliance.

Reduce Clutter: Keeping materials off desks and in-seat sacks can help create a cleaner and more structured learning environment, which can be particularly beneficial for students who struggle with visual or sensory overload.

Overall, the goal is to create a more efficient, supportive, and engaging classroom environment that meets the unique needs of each student.

Our students are special because they each bring unique strengths, challenges, and perspectives to the classroom. They demonstrate remarkable resilience, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning despite facing various challenges. Their individual needs and learning styles require personalized approaches and adaptations, such as the use of seat sacks to better organize their materials and support their learning.

Sensory toys can be designed to support the development of various skills, such as fine motor skills, coordination, and spatial awareness. For instance, toys that require manipulation, squeezing, or rolling can help improve hand-eye coordination and dexterity, which are crucial for academic tasks and daily living skills. Word game strips provide a hands-on, interactive way for students to engage with language. By incorporating games into learning, students are more likely to remain motivated and interested. This interactive approach helps reinforce literacy skills in a dynamic and enjoyable manner.
