This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

From emergent readers to fluent readers, my third graders have varying levels of knowledge and skills. Given that research shows that small group instruction is incredibly beneficial, a big portion of our ELA block is devoted to daily differentiated instruction. Through differentiation, I am able to tailor our curriculum to match the levels of each group.

However, creating the appropriate systems to have smooth DI rotations can be costly -especially for a first-year teacher that is still garnering up resources for her students' needs.

By donating to this project, you will be helping me obtain the necessary resources and tools to ensure that (1) I can prepare engaging activities, and (2) my students know exactly what to do during their rotations.

For instance, having direct access to a printer (which would be utilized to print colorful differentiated instruction materials) would support consistent learning experiences. Similarly, the 4-tier shelf rack and the cord management organizer kit will be pivotal to creating an organized technology center, which will ultimately help to make sure our DI rotations run smoothly.
