Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every year in my classes I try to hit the ground running with organization. This is often difficult for middle school students, but we work on different methods and tools they can use throughout the year. We have already implemented the use of designated class bins where students leave their notebooks and folders which has helped students tremendously as everything can be found in one spot!

While I try to keep my students organized and give them the necessary tools to succeed, there are some wishlist items I would love to provide for them.

I would love to be able to create a "sticker" for the front of their notebooks and folders that are clearly labeled for Science. This would also give them the opportunity to design the label and take ownership of their belongings. I would also be able to give my students checklists that they could adhere to a page in their notebook like a checkpoint for the Unit we are in.

I also included a laminator and laminating sheets in this project as my personal laminator has broken. It was the first purchase I made for my classroom when I became a teacher and sadly it needs to be replaced. Students are given laminated sheets of important documents to share with tables throughout the day and we often have color copies laminated to cut down the need for so many copies. The last item I chose was a stamp I would like to use for notebook checks!

I hope that I will be able to provide my students with more tools and strategies to keep them on track for this upcoming school year!
