My students need a classroom that is very well organized so they can focus on exploring their curiosity! We need an Organizer Cart, File Folders, and a Cubical Organizer.

My Students
I am the STEM Lab teacher of approximately 350 elementary aged children at a small school in Houston, Texas. Of the 350 PreK 3 - 5th grade students at our Title I campus, 100% are eligible for free breakfast and free lunch. 89% of my students have been labeled as economically disadvantaged and 10% of my students are part of the Backpack Buddy program which sends meals homes with the students each weekend. Some of my students even lost everything they had when Hurricane Harvey roared through Houston just a week ago.
Although my students are in unfortunate circumstances, they are worth so much more than the labels that have been attached to them.
My students come through my door every day ready to grow and willing to learn. They are hopeful for their futures, but need the tools to make their dreams come true.
My Project
The STEM Lab is a new addition to my school and I am super excited about teaching science, technology, engineering and math to all my students! Since this is an ancillary class and my class rotations are 50 minutes each, I want to make sure I am maximizing instructional time by having kids focused on the lesson and not trying to find materials and supplies needed for the day. With only 5 minutes of transition time between each class, I need routines and procedures that are seamless.
The less time the kids spend fiddling around trying to find the supplies they need, the more time they will have to explore their curiosity.
I don't have any storage space available in my classroom currently, so the bookshelves will be utilized to store the interactive journals we will be using to track our daily adventures. The rolling carts will be used to sort completed assignments from each class throughout the week. The storage crates and folders will be used to store individual student work, permission forms, contact sheets and discipline forms. The pencil pouches will be used to store supplies at each seat so that there is no need to rummage through caddies on the desk and everyone will have everything they need within their pouch. All of this will definitely help our classroom run much more smoothly!
