Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

When students enter my classroom, I want them to feel a sense of a calm and organized space.

Organized teacher = less chaos and more teaching!

Having an area strictly for organizing content for my small groups will help with less time lost finding materials needed for that day/week! Book bins allow students to decide what topics they are interested in reading and allow them to put the books back without chaos.

One of my small groups takes place down the hall and requires me to move items between that area and my classroom. The cart will ensure that I am ready for that group on a daily basis as well!

The floor seats will be a nice change of pace for students - they are used to sitting on the floor but usually just the carpet that is in the room - these cushions will up our comfort!

Materials like pencils, glue sticks, and dry erase markers are always necessary in the daily life of a teacher.
