Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district, I serve students who are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. I try to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences that will help create independence. My students have Autism, Learning disabilities, and/or are Emotionally behaviorally challenged. Many of them are language and speech impaired and demonstrate behaviors linked to those who are unable to communicate or express their emotions.

My students are very unique and just simply wonderful!!

I love coming to work every day just to see them and what they have to bring to the table. A true blessing.

My Project

My students will use the different color binders, dividers, expo pens, and erasers in order to set up all their notebooks for the different subject areas. In addition, each student must have an IEP goal binder in order to collect accurate data on all their goals. Each student has a daily schedule that they need to fill out in the mornings using Expo pens and erasers. This is part of the program for students with Autism.

The color binders will help in organizing each student's individual work and IEP goal samples.

The dividers will be used to divide by subject area and IEP goal. The Expo pens will be used by the teacher for her daily lessons and the students for their daily schedules. In addition, students use whiteboards and expo pens for individual lessons. This motivates my students to stay engaged in the lesson.
