My Students

Let's get organized! In my eigth grade humanities classroom in Brooklyn, New York, we've got lots of books in our library. In fact, thanks to donors like you, I can continue to offer my students current and interesting books. We take pride in our library and how it looks. There are books organized by level, genre, author, and even series.

In our classroom, we are all different, but we are all readers.

We read on many different levels and have interests that range from realistic fiction to science fiction to zombies, of course. That's why it's important to have a large selection of books and an organized way to display them.

My Project

Many of our book bins are getting old. In addition, we just don't have enough bins for the books we now have. Organizing and displaying books in bins, rather than with the spines facing out in a shelf, makes the library more welcoming and makes it easier for us to choose books. The labels on the bins clearly display what's in there, and students take the bins back to their tables and take time selecting books. From frequently taking bins off the shelves and putting them back, some have gotten pretty worn.

By funding this project, you will be supplying us with new bins to organize and display our books.

These bins will replace broken bins as well as house new books. We will also be able to help reorganize the library and get to know some of the books we may have overlooked in the past. Your help will make it possible to organize our library and increase our excitement in visiting it!
