My Students

My students are in high school grades 10 -12 grade in math and English classes in the Los Angeles area. They have learning challenges but work really hard to meet the standards of the curriculum. They have been struggling since the close of school due to the stress of virtual learning, but also have had many losses. Parents, grandparents, and siblings have been sick with COVID or died from it. Some of them contracted COVID themselves and struggled to catch up in school when they were too sick to work.

My Project

When a classroom is organized it helps students focus on learning and creating a comfortable and functional classroom will provide an environment where my students can learn. My students need to feel safe and organized in order to focus on lessons and activities, instead of being distracted and caught up in chaos. A metal cabinet will help me and my classroom stay organized while also making the room an inviting yet fun place for students to learn. The metal cabinets are used to organize engaging teaching resources and manipulatives that will reinforce math manipulatives and supplies. The organization will also teach them skills such as being able to organize their materials. We previously did this project already, however, the supply chain issue due to COVID 19 has gotten in the way. Our original cabinets were sold out and the replacements are even more money. Thank you again for the support.
