My Students

As a second grade teacher in an urban school, my students come from a variety of backgrounds. No matter what their background is, they are all a curious bunch of children who are striving to make the world a better place. We are an International Baccalaureate school that focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer in the classroom and beyond.

They like to move, they are 21st century learners, and they love a lot of positive attention.

From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I hope to inspire them to continue on a path of academic excellence that focuses on their individual needs.

My Project

Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their own learning by making choices that work best for them. Because of this classroom environment, students do not have their own desks to store their every day materials. Over the past few years we have used different organizational systems for folders, workbooks, and supplies. As I was looking for a different system, I found this amazing cart.

My students will be able to take responsibility for their things by making sure their drawer is organized.

Being able to access their materials easily makes for smooth transition times throughout the day. This cart will also free up space in the classroom by allowing everything to be in one place.
