Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a melting pot of happiness! My class consists of 18 (in the morning) and 16 (in the afternoon) of the most loving, most hard working little people one can ever meet. Their attitude and desire to learn can make any teacher's job worthwhile.

These students are a family, with each one willing to help the other.

Seeing their positivism makes me strive to become a better teacher each day. This year started with an unexpected turn: Hurricane Irma and the loss of school days. Time is gold at this point, when a big year of testing awaits.

My Project

The tablets will be used for small groups or when a child is done with his or her classwork. The goal is to keep the classroom flowing with a solid structure and a good routine. Students will help be responsible for the classroom organization. I believe that organized environments lead to organized thoughts.

Because of days lost due to Hurricane Irma, we have plenty of catching up to do.

Third grade is a very important grade. With standardized testing a crucial part of this school year, I want to make sure all bases are covered and all learning styles are targeted. I want to utilize the tablets for online books. Children will not only have access to the classroom library, but also to programs like "MyOn," which allow them to read stories and take comprehension tests.
