Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a wonderful group (28 to be exact) of children who are energetic curious and always fun to be around. My class is made up of 11 special education students and 18 general Education who are always working together and striving for success. Most of the students in my class come from bilingual homes and have hard working parents who pride themselves on being part of a wonderful team of people in my school building who help meet the needs of their kids. Together we all have one goal in mind and that is to ensure that our kids get a quality education that prepares them for the demands of the 21st century.

My Project

Limited storage means getting creative..especially in a classroom with 2 teachers and with 28 little bodies constantly moving about.Often times, students loose instructional time because the transitions between subjects takes longer than expected. Students have to get up and get their materials around the room at the beginning of a lesson and then put them away at the end, and this takes time. Having a seat sack will help them maximize instructional time and learn more. With a seat sack the kids can come in when the school day begins and put everything they need in their sack making transitions smoother.
