Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a high poverty school district (approximately 100% of students receive free lunch), some of my students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they endure, they come to school daily, ready to learn something new!

Some of my students have never traveled beyond their local community- leaving them with limited experiences.

In turn, our school works hard to bring a global perspective into the classroom environment through books, music, and technology. From the moment the children walk into the classroom door, the primary focus of their day is to engage in the learning process despite the daily troubles they may face beyond the school building.

My Project

Providing students with an organizational bin, folders, and pocket chart will enhance their learning experience by providing them with the opportunity to sort their learning resources based on their instructional and independent academic levels. Some of the students struggle to comprehend grade level content material.

In turn, the organizational bin, folders, and pocket chart will grant my class the ability to arrange their small group/independent assignments based on their differentiated/leveled instruction.

Giving students the ability to engage in the learning process based on their differentiated classroom experiences will enhance their organizational skills as individuals, and will better prepare them for the environment beyond the classroom.
