Oracy in the Classroom

My Project

These items will help build students oracy skills within the classroom. We are practicing to improve their listening and speaking skills. I love the tenacity and bravery of my students willing to learn a new language. Students will be able to interview others and tell others about themselves. These tape recorders will allow students to hear what they sound like to help improve their fluency and articulation.

These tools will enable students to understand the different types of discussion roles available to them, which will broaden their repertoire of classroom talk as well as provide a tool for communication feedback.

Effective oracy skills enable students to participate in deep learning experiences/activities where they can exchange ideas, explore new areas and challenge assumptions. They will interview others and hear themselves answer interview questions.

My students are special because they are willing to do what it takes to learn and improve their communications skills. Students from other cultures have a great deal to contribute to their new country/community. Building their language skills helps provide them practice with such skills and builds their confidence to contribute to their new community.
