This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Flexible seating allows students to choose how they want to learn and what works best for them. During independent reading and technology time, my students can select places to sit around our room, such as on the floor, under their desks, sitting on stools, and using pillows. When they choose where and how they sit, I notice that they are more engaged in what they are asked to do. They have become more aware of the best spot for them and where they do their best work.

My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work.

The stadium seats, wiggle stools, yoga balls, and modular stools I have chosen give my students more options for places to sit around the classroom to make more effective learning choices. One of these products is the wobble stools, which allow students to sit in many different places in the room and still have movement. I also have several different floor seating options, such as the donut yoga balls, the stadium chairs, and soft seating to make them more comfortable and motivated to work.

I have seen how choice can positively affect my student's work and behavior, and I hope the additional options will help us grow even more!
