This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

An optimal learning environment with small group chairs/stools and a designated reading area provide comfort and helps my students focus during small group time.

Small group instruction is crucial for our underprivileged students to enhance their academic achievement and foster a supportive learning environment.

Furthermore, small group time helps and allows for personalized attention, catering to individual learning needs, and promoting active participation, which is essential for my students to be successful. Unfortunately, the transition to small group time leads to classroom challenges. My students move their chairs from their desks to small group tables causing loss of instructional time and disruptions. Having small group chairs at our table would make the transition quick, efficient and maximize learning time. It would also create a more organized learning environment, allowing students to focus better on the activities at hand without unnecessary interruptions.

A designated reading area/rug in my classroom would provide an essential dedicated space for my students to engage with books and develop/promote a love for reading. Moreover, it would offer a quiet and comfortable environment that would encourage concentration, which can lead to improved academic performance and a lifelong appreciation for literature.
