My Students

Our first grade is made up of 32 general education students and students with special needs. Most come from homes with parents who speak another language. Our amazing new 6-year-olds have not been in a classroom for the past 6 months due to Covid-19. Now they are entering school for another year during these unprecedented times, and have to adapt to new norms. Some students will be learning in a fully remote environment, but will still need the same tools that they would receive in school.

My Project

Our students will not be in our classroom every day. We are doing hybrid learning, so on the days that they are home they need digital as well as physical resources to ensure their success. We normally give a supply list to the parents, but we are trying to make that as minimal as possible to lessen the burden for them. Many of the parents of our students have not worked in months and because of the hybrid schedule will still not be able to return back to work full time. With the digital, as well as print version of Scholastic, we will be able to give the students in the room as well as at home the same access! The Expo's, erasers, glue, lables, tape as well as colored pencils will help ease the burden of the parents needing to get supplies.
