Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is located in the heart of Overtown, an impoverished area with a high unemployment rate. As a result, our enrollment include a vast number of students from surrounding shelters. With everything that is going on, they should not be forgotten.

A lot of our students come to school restless, hungry, with strong odors, and some without supplies.

It is my duty as an educator to make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible in our learning environment. With your help, this can be done with a "Take What You Need" area. The Vaseline, deodorant, lotion, and other items requested will be accessible to all students, especially those in need. It is my desire to ensure that my students feel a part of not only a classroom, but a family. A family that is concerned and willing to get them what is needed to be successful. With this project, I hope to help rehabilitate students back to their own normality.
