Please help my students hear the words of Frederick Douglass, take a walk in Africa searching for water with Nya, understand what it means to be yourself Stargirl, and develop the character traits to be successful teenagers.
I have used these books in the past--and they are excellent.
Powerful books make a difference in the lives of students. I have seen this time and time again throughout my career. They allow students the opportunity to think and examine life, matching their own lens with the experience of others around the world--and their reading skills improve in the process!
