My Project
In my classroom, I have a mix of students who come from diverse backgrounds and face various challenges that impact their learning. I want to create a library that is accessible, interesting and opens my students' world views!
By providing them with a variety of texts, I hope to spark their imaginations, and empower them to become lifelong learners. Books have a incredible power to transport readers to new places and encounter new ideas.
Beyond engaging my students to read for fun, I also want to use these books to get them interested in content I am teaching in class. For example, the book "Memoirs of A Hamster" is a great mentor text for teaching perspective, whereas the "Lotus Island" series are great read aloud chapter books for teaching theme!
