Help me give my students a classroom library filled with brand new books including a diverse cast of characters as well as many non-fiction books to support our school study.

My Students
My students and their families have sought out and selected our school to provide an enriching educational environment for their children. Our integrated units of study provide multiple entry points for learning to meet the varied learning needs of all students. Through these studies, students learn how to learn.
They truly take on the roles of researchers, engineers, scientists, nutritionists, and mathematicians.
Almost all of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. My students understand that they have a place in the world and are more than capable of making an important contribution. They learn to become flexible, resilient, and creative thinkers who are able to work collaboratively and solve problems.
My Project
Do you remember what it was like the first time you read a book you couldn't put down? Well, my classroom needs more books like that. Once first graders see characters they recognize or look like themselves, books fly off the shelves!
With these additional titles added to our classroom library, my students will be able to find books they love in a snap!
The only problem they will face is having so many great books to choose from!
By replenishing these book titles in our classroom library, my students will be able to read brand new books that aren't taped together, tattered, and worn out! I have chosen books that are high interest for this age group. They are the books that are constantly borrowed and sought after. I have added new series that feature characters that reflect my students' diverse backgrounds, such as the Confetti Kids, as well as graphic novels that include diverse characters. Additionally, I've requested several school books and insect books to support our 3-month long project-based inquiry studies throughout the year.
By adding these books to my classroom library, you will make book shopping day the most exciting day for my students! They will flourish as readers, researchers, and more importantly, they will develop a true love of reading.
