Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is composed of 12 special needs children who come from families with limited resources. They require multistory approaches to instruction. Our school is a Title 1 school, and in our neighborhood, there is a very diverse community with many low income families who have limited support. Due to the limited resources in our school, we often do not have access to instructional tools to enhance presentation of the curriculum in order to meet the students special needs.

Many of the students receive related services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, hearing, and physical therapy.

These children have excellent potential for growth with the proper technological support.

My Project

The use of Chromebooks will allow students the ability to learn information using different formats. For example: they will be able to use multi-languages and visual and auditory programs. Students will have the opportunity to learn how to navigate the Internet, utilize educational programs, and also partake in projects based on learning and incorporating word processing skills. They will also be able to access educational learning sites to build up on their literacy and mathematical skills. This will also increase their use of fine motor skill, visual motor skills, and auditory processing skills. The Chromebooks will also be used as incentives to motivate the students to learn new information.
