This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our scholars are bright, curious and resilient children. Their energy and individual talents inspire our classroom daily to navigate and tailor curriculum to their needs. To best serve our scholars, our classroom environment hopes to become a student-led community of joyful learning.

Our scholars represent the resilience of our community and the courage of our families placing their hope in our children's brilliant minds.

We are a Title 1 urban school located in the heart of the San Francisco Mission District that offers 100% free lunch. Our student population consists of 100% English language learners and all are students of color.

My Project

When introduced to new technology, our students rise to the challenge and take on new found skills such as: Word Processing, Research and Presentations. These skills form part of education standards that will set them up for success the rest of their lives. In this fast growing world of technology, giving our scholars the access to these resources are vital to providing an equitable education.

Specifically, the Chromebooks will be used for: classwork assignments using google classroom, reading in apps such as Myon, and Google slides to help anchor research projects.

This also lends itself for opportunities of student choice, which leads to increased student engagement within the classroom. In addition, granting students the ability to creatively express themselves within their assignments.
