Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Our students are energetic, enthusiastic, hilarious balls of excitement. Our school is near the bustling downtown center. Our school serves 90 percent low-income students of color with a three percent population of homeless students.
Our students are ready to come to school and are fascinated with learning about the world around them.
I feel so lucky to be able to help my students along in their growth. Their joy for learning keeps me coming back every day and keeps me pursuing my work in education.
My Project
I would like to bring a class set of Ozobots to my students so that they get early experience with coding.
We live in Silicon Valley and do not yet have STEM specific materials in which to understand what coding is and get beginning experience with.
With this project, I would like to provide my class with Ozobots to learn about and practice coding while simultaneously learning about space exploration, American History, and math. I like that the Ozobots can work with a color coding system, independent of our district technology, so that students are able to explore with hiccups. Having Ozobots will also be an incredible enrichment for our procedural thinking and problem solving.
