My Students

My first grade students are amazing! They adore school and watching them grow from the beginning of the year to the end is truly special! They come from many backgrounds and I learn from them as they learn from me!

My Project

We have been virtual all year and will continue to be until at least January 25, 2021. Learning to read is one of the biggest parts of first grade. The children start as beginning readers and leave first grade as fluent readers! Doing small group reading lessons with them online has been a challenge, it is so different than reading with them in person. Having digital resources to help the process would be so helpful! These could include online reading books, comprehension activities, sight word practice and extensions to help with reading strategies. We are finding new ways to teach and these resources would be so helpful!
