My Students

I work with students that have a love for music. They enjoy singing, dancing and rapping. I currently work at two elementary schools DFWSW and P both schools have a great need for instruments.

The students that I service at DFWSW Elementary school are students that are eager, enthusiastic and willing to prove that they can be better than the limitations place before them.

My students live in a place for children who came from a crisis to were the government where force to strip them away from their parents due to an unsafe environment and place in a foster and adoption services. The school is a great place that meets their needs but there isn't any funding for the Music department. At P Elementary there’s little to no instruments there as well. The need is so great but I don't have the funding to fund the recorders to my students. Both schools are considered to be a Title I School which simple means there is a high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families.

My Project

This project is to ignite a passion to help my students believe in themselves so they can accomplish a multitude of things that they were told they could not because of who they are and where they are from.

I want them to experience receiving a true gift of love so they can express their talent through the music they will learn when playing the recorders.

These recorders will allow them to experience the music that paper and pencil or watching it on a t.v. screen can't offer. The recorders will allow my students the will go beyond their imagination and have Faith in people again. This will help ensure them to know that they are loved and their are people out there that cares about their needs.
