My Students

Our school has 6 kindergarten classrooms averaging with at least 20 students per a class. Our school district has grown and to accommodate the growth a brand new school was built. Our students come from many rural areas throughout the school district to create our awesome school family. These students are the first ever kindergarten students at our brand new school!

They have now been official kindergarten students for a week and they are curious, eager and excited to learn about the world around them!

They love to learn by dancing, singing and playing. Every day is always a fun day of learning in our kindergarten classrooms.

My Project

I am so fortunate to work with a wonderful grade level team where we plan together and share many resources. We plan together weekly and are always thinking of new and fun things to use in our classrooms. Our ultimate goal is for our students to love coming to school and learn a lot throughout the day.

As a kindergarten grade level, we have discovered that we are lacking in having a variety of counting tools for our students to use.

A huge math skill that our kindergarten students must master is learning to count. This projects requests a variety of different counting tools such as, counting bears, unifix cubes, transportation counters etc. This will allow all of our students, over 120 kindergarten students in all, to have access to some math counters throughout the day. We will use these counters to learn how to count, sort and solve addition and subtraction problems. It is critical for students to learn how to count by using hands-on materials that they can physically manipulate.
