This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I'm lucky enough to work with a wonderful collection of middle school students in Brooklyn, NYC. I provide both monolingual and bilingual speech and language therapy services to fit their unique needs. I love to keep therapy current, creative, and empowering. They love to explore, question, and challenge me every step of the way.

My students have a lot to say and I want to help them learn to say it.

Each scholar on my caseload knows that what they have to share is important and powerful. It may be challenging to get there, but they will, one word at a time.

My Project

My speech-language therapy students and I have been engaged in learning about kindness and empathy this fall. I want to send each of them a card this winter season with positive words and the ability to spread the cheer. Each student will receive a general holiday card from me with an inspirational bookmark and stickers. In addition, they will receive a postcard and stamp to send on to someone special.

Your donation will bring a smile to my students faces this winter and help them to spread kindness in their communities.

They have all shown great interest and engagement in learning about how other students their age have helped others. I am sure they will be overjoyed to be able to do the same. They will also be able to practice their writing skills and learn the important skill of addressing a postcard.
