Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 5th grade bilingual scholars are all eager learners, who come to school ready to learn each day. Each year brings new levels of excitement and new supplies, and books for our growing classroom library. As my students continue to grow as learners, they are getting their hands on more books.

Having plenty of bookshelves and storage units will allow my students to keep their supplies in one central location and will allow for more book choices to be available in the library for students to book shop for independent reading.

Currently, I am reshuffling book titles and genres that match each reading unit we are studying. Having more bookshelves will allow me to have all books out on display for students to access and enjoy the love of reading outside of our reading block. This will also allow for space to store their book lockers in one location instead of in different areas of the room.
