Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are 21st century learners but lack computers in the classroom.

I teach 4th grade in an immigrant and working class community.

Some of my kids have special needs, some of them are English learners and all of them love to learn. School is a safe haven for these kids who are surrounded by poverty and gang ridden activity.

My Project

We use computers every day in our class for all subject matters. Students use our accelerated reading program and take quizzes online, as well as access mathematical content through online games and activities. They also use the computers for project based research and reinforcing literacy standards. We have a few computers , but my dream is to build a computer lab in my classroom in which every child would have a netbook at their desk!

With your generous donation, I will be saying to my students, "Get out your netbooks, let's explore the world!" Who knows where we'll go next?
