Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a first-year teacher preparing to wrap up my very first school year with an incredible group of second graders. Over the past several months, my students have worked hard to grow as readers and writers. Where many once read only simple three- or four-letter words, they are now tackling multisyllabic words and writing full paragraphs with confidence. The reading culture we've built together has sparked a genuine love for books in our classroom. One of my proudest moments is seeing students who once struggled now immersed in chapter books, eager to read more every day.

This project is my way of sending them off with a meaningful parting gift that celebrates their growth and carries forward the joy of reading.

The book A Letter From Your Teacher beautifully captures what I feel for each of my students—it's a full-circle moment that I hope they'll always remember.

With your support, I hope to gift each student a copy of this book along with a small reading buddy to accompany them as they move on to 3rd grade. Your generosity will help me give them something both heartfelt and lasting. Thank you so much for any support you can give!
