Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students at this Title I school in Los Angeles are bright, cheerful, motivated and enthusiastic learners. The students range from special education to gifted learners. Because my students are diverse, the use of cognitive strategies can significantly impact certain learning outcomes.

The goal is to create a Cognitive Guided Learning environment for my students.

CGI instruction is a way of listening to students, asking smart questions, and engage with their thinking. All with the goal of uncovering and expanding every student's understanding.

My Project

My students need a laptop in the classroom so they can conduct research during the Group Investigation Model process.

My students have more of a chance doing research at home then they do in the classroom.

I only have 2 computers in the classroom for students to use. I use the Group Inquiry Investigation Model in my classroom so students can utilize the Critical and Creative Thinking Skills. One important part of the model is the research phase. If I can get this laptop for my classroom the a few more students will be allowed to conduct research for their projects.
