My Project

The students at our school are spirited - bright, dynamic, caring, and not afraid to laugh.They enter class each day and wonder, "What's the plan today?"

We want the plan for each day to include time reading a quality novel.

A novel that they will not only beg to read, but one that also models vivid figurative language, a strong and fast moving plot, and, of course, characters that develop to the point that the students expect them to open the door and walk right into our classroom. One such book is called Once Upon a Marigold!

My teammate and I use quality literature to teach students to read. The students' reading ability improves with every engaging novel they travel through - a most delicious outcome! We use quality literature so that our students discover the incredible magic of books.

As the students read, we have them continually analyze the text - including exposition, character, plot, and theme.

Help us put this marvelous Marigold novel into each hand so that each and every student can be one step closer to being captured by literature for life.
