Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Physical fitness, and gross motor skills are important parts of a child's development. We do not have access to a playground at our school, which is a big challenge. However, we do have a large indoor play space where the kids can engage in physical activities.

My students are fun, energetic city kids.

Our school just opened and is lacking in lots of supplies. Since we can not take the children outside to play we need to engage in movement activities, sports and games in our gym. In order to make the experience meaningful to the kids we need the appropriate supplies.

My Project

I take my class to the gym everyday. Right now we can only play games like duck duck goose, and London Bridge. With these supplies we can learn sports like soccer, have relay races, beanbag toss, and other fun engaging preschool activities. The children will learn to take turns, sportsmanship, being part of a team and most importantly get the exercise they need.

These materials will allow my children to develop important gross motor skills.

At the same time, they will also learn important social and life skills by working with their classmates. And, they will have fun!
