My Students

I have the privilege of teaching 22 wonderful and inspiring first grade students each day.

My students come to school eager to learn and discuss the material that we are learning.

My students have a variety of needs that I strive to meet within the classroom through differentiated learning and small group work. We endeavor to identify areas where students can showcase their gifts and talents and areas where students can improve. We believe that every child is gifted, and that it is our job to uncover those gifts!

My Project

My students will use these fun and cute robots to learn all about the world of coding! First grade students are very curious to learn about the world around them. Learning to code using the Dash and Dot Robotic kits and iPads will give my students an opportunity to acquire 21st-century skills in an environment that fosters individualized learning.

This will allow them to get "hands on" experience the area of STEM in a way that promotes problem-solving and creativity.

The benefit of giving these students access to new technology is the opportunity to be creative while applying skills in science, engineering, and math will be immeasurable. All too often, we use technology as entertainment. I want my students to recognize the importance and role of technology in learning. My students need to know how to use technology in order to realize that they can use technology to change our world.
