My Students

I am kindergarten teacher in West Hills CA to an exceptional bunch of students. My class comes to school excited to learn and they openly accept the challenges of our day!

Our kindergarten classroom is full of curiosity and discovery, much of which is done through storytelling and books.

Kindergarten is a year of exploration, growth, and change. It is in kindergarten that students learn the foundation for future academics and the life skills necessary to navigate the world around them. It is through books that we learn so many of these life lessons. Books and storytelling are the center of learning in our diverse classroom population.

My Project

As we begin our new school year, my students are tackling the hard task of learning how to work collaboratively with their peers. In our Daily 5 literacy rotations, the students work on various strategies and skills to become better readers, writers, listeners and speakers. My students need a listening center to enhance our literacy small groups! This book collection is the perfect addition, with it the students will experience fluency and intonation. This set of books will encourage storytelling and foster pre-reading skills for these little kinders!

This set of story books will excite the students and foster their love for books. They will love this new center and have lots fun while learning!
