This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district, I know the challenges my students face both in and out of the classroom every day. My students are dedicated agents of change who are constantly willing to be challenged. My students rise to every artistic challenge and thrive through opportunities that mend their academic grit with creativity through the performing arts.

My students are dedicated young individuals who are driven by the performing arts.

Through dance, my students are given the opportunity to create, perform, respond, and connect dance to their everyday lives in order for personal growth. With your support, my students will be able to experience and thrive through a quality performing arts education.

My Project

This past school year, my dance students have engaged in numerous dance performances in and around our school community. Instead of just having a dance ensemble, I have decided to create a Dance Team to let students further pursue their passions. This team will compete in dance within and around our Newark school community. These donations would help the dance team students look and perform their best at their upcoming dance competitions and events.

Providing students with basic dance necessities will ensure their success in dance education and beyond.

In this project, I am asking for fringe dance costumes for our dance Proud Mary. These resources will be used in our upcoming dance showcase with the theme 'On Broadway'. These resources will help students look and feel their best and will help them perform like the professionals they truly are. Investing in these students will encourage them to pursue their passion in dance for years to come.
