Old Dirty, Ineffective White Boards Need A Retirement Home.
My students need these dry erase boards so that the teachers in the room can get immediate data from the students. These boards help us see who is grasping the concept that is taught.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in Brooklyn. We are a small school, with approximately four hundred and fifty students. Our class has twenty-five students. Seventy-one percent of our students are entitled to free lunch due to living below the poverty line. I teach in a special education class with approximately forty percent of the class having special needs.
This class has a wonderful mix of personalities.
There are several students with severe behavioral challenges and other students who are so shy that making eye contact can be difficult. As a whole, we have a fantastic time in class. The students and teachers laugh a lot in class. We try to make learning fun. I am most proud of how the students interact with one another. At the beginning of the year, there were many verbal scuffles and mistreating one another.
Now, I am proud to say that we coexist more as a family. The students are helpful with one another and everyone is treated with the respect and courtesy that they deserve. This environment is conducive for a wonderful learning atmosphere. Our students are learning, but our lack of materials hinders our progress.
My Project
The white boards we are asking for will help us give the students the additional support they may need in order to be successful. These boards allow us to see who is grasping the concept being taught, and who needs further assistance. The students get so excited to use these boards, they use them as a stage to portray their wonderful work.
The students are motivated and inspired while doing their school work, we find these boards to be very inspirational educational tools.
Please help us by replacing the old, dirty ineffective boards we currently have. The students' white boards need replacing. These boards are especially helpful to our students with special needs.
