My Students

My classroom is a hub for diversity, from students who have a military connection and have lived in a variety of places to those with a more poverty-type background, who may have never left the county. This is a multi-age classroom which includes a group of kindergartners and first graders.

And regardless of their background, each student comes in ready to learn!

They are amazing thinkers and risk-takers, coaches to each other, and learners. Giving them opportunities to be all of the above is my job. They are amazing!

My Project

My students love being creative. Using building blocks and sets allows for this creativity to come forth and it also works on their fine motor skills. During morning routines and free time throughout the day, students will be able to grab these STEM activities and show their creative side.

Providing a way to show their creativity in the classroom strengthens their higher-leveled thinking throughout the day!

Using a variety of materials to build, work in partners or small groups, or even as an individual, allows students to express their thoughts in a variety of ways. They can work together to create cars, animals, houses, and incorporate math, language, and writing skills throughout.

We can never have enough magnetic letters in the classroom and this provides all students and opportunity to use them while building and making words. During small groups and literacy centers, students can use the Fill It stamps to work on missing sounds, and having a variety of choices will meet the needs of all my learners.
