Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This has been a difficult year for many, and this current school year is one like no other. Although schools are currently open, there are many students in my own class that I do not have the opportunity to meet with in person each week. As educators, we know that each student learns differently and that it benefits students to receive instruction in a multitude of ways. As the lead teacher in a room full of gifted and talented students, I have had the extreme privilege of getting to know my students over the past few weeks. The students in my class are some of the most hard-working children I have ever had the chance to meet, and I want to ensure that I am providing the same type of high-quality instruction to each individual student in my class, whether they are completely remote, or separated into rotating cohorts.

Providing students with the tools they need to succeed is my major goal for the school-year.

With all the uncertainty surrounding this year and the future, we would like to keep some stability in terms of which resources we use in the classroom.

My Project

Scholastic News has always done a tremendous job of providing young students with quality information about current events in the world around us. From elections to outstanding stories about students their own age, we would like to use the Scholastic News articles to become global citizens in our communities.

With the help of the digital and print magazines, I can ensure that each one of my students has access to quality resources to further their learning!

In our current world, keeping stability in the classroom will help students feel like things are a little more normal than they currently are. I want my students to continue learning, wherever they may be physically.
