Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live near downtown Los Angeles in a predominately low-income community. My students strive for a brighter future despite their struggles. My students enjoy learning about everything that surrounds them.

My students are dedicated, hard-working, and leaders of their community.

They are incredible, and I am so lucky and thankful to work with each one of them. My students are always ready to learn, explore, and discover. My students are surrounded by teachers that care about their well-being and future.

My Project

The students at my school will be able to use their new headphones, mouse, and keyboard to research and discover during their computer lab time. Headphones will be used to create a private sound in the ear of each of my students. Mouse will be used to point at objects and click options. Keyboards will allow my students to get familiar with the keys as well as help with motor skills that will help them on the long run in grade school.

Ultimately, the students will gain lifetime skills that will help them navigate a computer with confidence.

My students will learn how to type, utilize Microsoft, Powerpoint, Amplify reading and websites that will help them during state testing.

Not many of my students have internet access or a computer at home. Therefore, not only will my students enter a welcoming lab that will have inspirational posters, resources, and images to help them navigate their computer. But will enter the computer lab to: create, observe, manipulate, present, utilize, teach, entertain, and research.

Every students should have the opportunity to have these essential materials in the computer lab.
