This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"A picture is worth a thousand words!," is what I tell myself after teaching new vocabulary to my students.

Awesome second graders in our classroom are enthusiastic learners.

Although they range in proficiency levels, they all respond the same way when they see visual representations. It makes learning new vocabulary fun and exciting always looking forward to seeing a picture. Over two thirds of my students are English Learners, which means they usually aren't exposed to as much vocabulary as others. They lack the basic vocabulary, but don't lack the desire to learn.

My Project

A laser printer will not only produce clear pictures to use for learning new vocabulary, but it will also be used to create vivid materials for independent learning centers. Second language speaking students will have the opportunity to put words and pictures together in their minds and at the same time develop new vocabulary that they will later use as they progress in life.

You can help my second language learning students expand their vocabulary with the use of pictures.

It will make a huge difference in their learning of new words. Help them create a thousand words, or even more!!
