Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is a barrier-free Title I funded school, home to over fifteen hundred students, with over seventy languages spoken. My children are resilient, dedicated, and determined to overcome any obstacles that they may need to overcome to soar to new heights. I am in awe of their perseverance and how they strive to be the best possible. To say that I am proud to be their teacher is truly an understatement.
So many of our diverse students are in need of extra activities in both reading and writing to help bridge the achievement gap which makes this reading PD so important for my teaching practice.
The OGA virtual on demand PD trainings will help me to develop and learn innovative and challenging group activities that will help my students thrive in reading and writing.
I will learn research based writing, comprehension, vocabulary, questioning, and note taking strategies that will benefit all of my students.
